The 6th annual INK! Print Rally 2022
On September 10th, 2022, Emerge will host the 6th annual INK! Print Rally in the street in front of our downtown Coeur d’Alene Gallery. From 1:00-7:00 pm, enjoy interactive printmaking booths with activities for all ages, local artisans and makers, live music, food trucks, and a beer garden. In the center of the parking lot, large-scale prints are created using 5’ x 4’ carved wood panels, an asphalt roller, and fabric. In addition to dozens of local and regional artists, our outreach extends to six regional colleges and universities, local businesses, and community-based organizations. Last year, the Print Rally attracted over 3,500 community members.
This year, we are exploring the theme Underground.
The showcased prints will reflect the process of steamrolling panels of carved wood: bearing stress upon fabric, ink, and wood to create a piece of art that speaks of the artist, the context, and the process.
It is the mission of Emerge to provide free and affordable arts education to youth and adults in our community. The funds raised during Print Rally will be used to maintain printmaking equipment for the Emerge classroom, offer scholarships, and provide the needed resources to underwrite diverse art education for our community.
This year our Lead Printmaker is WSU printmaking instructor, Kevin Hass and participating artista are Karli Elmose, Mel Hewitt, Jill McFarlan, Sorensen elementary students, Carol Rufenach, Erin Connor, Terren Weirick, Aimee Clark, Viza Arlington, Kevin Haas, Alex Remero, Alajandro Arango, Sarah Windisch, Jennifer Drake and Willow Tree.
The Vendors include Spokane Print and Publishing and Jill McFarlane, Youth Printmaking, Colleen Ford, G Made, Inland Aloha Shaved Ice, Humble Bee Apothecary and Lucid Lavender Botanicals.
