Enjoy this 9.6-mile out-and-back trail near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 5 h 17 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are March through November. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
This trail includes a creek (with heavy flow in the spring) that must me crossed to get to the trail (seasonal). The construction of this trail was completed 1982. The trail is in good condition and well-marked. The forest service classifies this trail as a Moderate Use trail. At points, the trail is narrow with steep drop offs to the side. The trail is steep in some places and wet weather can make the trail slick. This is a hiking only trail and is closed to motorcycle and horse use.
